IWR 2009 FIRST DAY: TOO WIND NO RACES
Rough sea and strong southwesterly wind didn‚t allow to fire the start

The 19th Imperia Winter Regatta began with very demanding weather condition: the event is held in Oneglia Harbour with the organization of Yacht Club Imperia.
More than 400 sailors coming from 14 countries (Algeria, Austria, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Netherlands, Slovenia, Switzerland, UK ) could not leave the harbour due to rough sea (about force 6) and the wind up to 20 knots. The programm has been postponed to tomorrow morning with the first start at 10.00am.
The opening ceremony has been held in the afternoon at 5.00pm at headquarter in Oneglia Harbour.
Races of 19th Imperia Winter Regatta will be managed by an International Jury (officials coming from Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Israel and Italy) while at see the Race Committe will be managed by Italian officials.
The IWR is an ISAF Grade 3 event.
