IMPERIA WINTER REGATTA 2008 - THE 19TH EDITION IS WARMING UP

The 19th edition of Imperia Winter Regatta will be held once again in Oneglia Harbour from 4th to 7th December 2008 with the organization of Yacht Club Imperia.

Due to the work in progress for the new marina in 2008 the event will last only four days but a large fleet is expected: 420 (male and female), olympic classes 470 (male and female) and Laser /Standard male, Radial female) will race in a series of 9 races.

The young crews of L‚Equipe will race as well on the same days.

"A large number of teams are expected in Imperia for this year IWR - said event manager Luigi Rognoni - at the moment sailors from Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Monaco, Switzerland, UK, have already sent their entry and we are pleased to welcome for the first time the Laser team from Algeria".

IWR 2008 will be presented to Press during a press conference will be held in the Imperia Town Hall on 1st December at 12 o‚clock.

The IWR is an ISAF Grade 3 event.
