IWR 2009 CLOSES, SEE YOU NEXT YEAR
Imperia Winter Regatta closes today, after the fifth day of races, 343 boats on starting line, 4 race courses, 28 Nation represented and more than 40 races sailed.
Thanks to everybody for coming in Imperia for this enjoyable 20th edition of IWR.
All definitive results are online now, prizegiving of the day just ended and boats are leaving the docks of Imperia.
Thanks to everybody helped in this organization, without them this event wouldn't be so successful!
See you next year, preliminary dates are 5th to 12th December 2010!

IWR 2009 day 5: THE END
Sun and light wind featured this fifth day at Imperia Winter Regatta 2009
470 and Lasers sailed two nice races with 10-12 kn Esterly wind.
In 470 MEN Desiderato - Fonda (ITA) won the series, and Bochmann - Lorenz (GER) won in 470 WOMEN
Di Laghi (ITA) won in Laser rad WOMEN, Benini (ITA) in Laser Radial Boy, and Bernaz (FRA) won the series in Laser Standard MEN

IWR 2009 DAY 5: sun and light wind
Sun and light wind are featuring this fifth day at Imperia Winter Regatta 2009
470 and laser are today in the central race course, closer to the port.
They are already sailing the first race of the day, with 8-9 kn of Northesterly wind

IWR 2009 - BYTE CII Euro 2009 - DAY FOUR: BYTE ENDED
Rain and light medium northeasterly wind on the two racing areas - Byte CII, 470/Laser - completed the scheduled program.
With 10 races the European Byte CII ends: the winner are Polish Sara Piasecka in the woman division and Hungarian Peter Batho among boys.
In 470 class women do better than guys: in the first race of the day German crew Bochmann/Lorenzi is the first one to cross the finishing line in front of the male fleet. Now German ladies lead the overall results, in man division the best team is the Italian Desiderato/Fonda.
French Jean Baptiste Bernaz is still the leader in the Laser class.
The 29er and L'Equipe International Meeting ends today as well. In the 29er the winners are broche Savio from Trieste, the girls Addari/Perini from Rome win in L'Equipe fleet.

IWR 2009 - BYTE CII Euro 2009: DAY THREE ENDED
420 ended today after two race sailed in light wind conditions: Caputo-Barbero from Italy won in 420 Ladies fleet and Falcetelli-Franciolini (ITA) in 420 Open.
Desiderato-Fonda (ITA) are leading in 470M, Marino-Malventi in 470F, Pohlak (EST) in Laser Rad F, Cabaz (FRA) in Laser std M, Benini (ITA) in Laser Rad Boy;
Pozzoli-Riano are leading the L'Equipe U12 fleet, Addari Perini (female) in L'Equipe, and Savio brothers in 29er.
At BYTE CII Europeans Piasecka from Ploand is leading in Women fleet and Batho in Men fleet.

 IWR 2009 DAY THREE
Three races scheduled for 420, 470 and Laser today, and 4 for 29er and L'Equipe international meeting.
cloudy sky and light Norh wind is featuring this morning.
we are expecting to have Westerly wind today, lighter than yesterday.
420, 29er and L'Equipe are already at sea sailing a race, 470 and Laser are ashore with Ap displayed on flag pole.
Byte are at sea from the early morning and they are sailing the first race of the day.
IWR 2009 DAY TWO
Good conditions also in Red and Green race courses, sunny and windy.
second day of racing for 420, that had to wait a bit before having the start after Northerly wind dropped.
First day of race for 470 and laser that had to wait ashore until midday, and then finally went to the race course
Good weather forecast for tomorrow, maybe less sunny but again westerly wind.
29er and L'Equipe started their International meeting with some great racing.

Byte EURO DAY TWO
Race Committee tried to give a start in the early morning, but the North wind dropped and races were abandoned.
Byte are racing now with a good westerly wind in this second day of races.
Sunny weather and warm conditions and crews are enjoying this great day.
Good weather forecast for tomorrow, maybe less sunny but again westerly wind.

Byte EURO DAY ONE
Just one race for Byte class in this first day of races.
Wind came late today and was a bit shifty allowing just one race completed, and the second has been abandoned in the end of the day.
first between men is the Polish Tadeusz Kubiak and fisrst between women is the Spanjish Ilena Marti.
First warning signal for tomorrow will be at 9.45 am and 4 races are scheduled for the day.
IWR 2009 DAY ONE
Two races sailed today in 420 class
Wind came late today and Race Committee can give just two starts instead the three expected.
First in the Open class are now Winlel/Tielemann from Germany and first in Ladies class are Burnet/Stewart from UK
First warning signal for tomorrow will be at 10.30 am and 3 races are scheduled for the day. 470 and Laser will start racing also at 10.00 am.

At today more than 330 crews have entered IWR 2009, coming from 28 different countries: Singapore, Germany, Monaco, Suisse, Slovenia, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Austria, Norway, Croatia, Denmark, France, Netherlands, San Marino, Hungary, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Estony, Russia, Lithuany, Great Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Turkey and Italy.

The Yacht Club Imperia is proud to announce that Imperia has been choosen as venue for the next BYTE CII Europeans and Imperia Winter Regatta as the right event for it.
Everybody is happy in the town and it is good to know IWR is well known around the world.
As usual, YCIM will do the utmost to organize the best event as possible and looks forward to have this new class sailing in Imperia.

Four years have passed since the birth of Yacht Club Imperia,
after the merging of the old sailing Clubs of the town.
